I took my daughter's vehicle, 2012 Kia Forte, to two transmission shops and they both stated she needed a transmission. I asked if they checked her transmission fluid and I was told yes. I decided to get a 3rd opinion and I took her vehicle to Clutches and Gears transmission. The owner, Jason, assisted me. He checked the transmission fluid and he told me it was 3 1/2 quarts low. I couldn't thank Jason enough for being so honest. God bless you Jason.
My car's transmission had an issue where it was not shifting into certain gears. I called to schedule an appointment over voicemail at about 10pm at night. Jason, the owner, picked up and said he'd be there in the morning to help me.
The diagnosis of the issue and work was done quick. I asked for a run down of the costs of parts & labor. Price was very fair for how much work was put into fixing it.
I returned a week later due to another issue that came up. Jason fixed the issue within a day and at no extra cost. He seems to run a very honest business.
I had some transmission work done on my Jeep YJ. I had already purchased most of the parts that I assumed needed to be replaced. They had it done up way faster than expected and told me that it was just a bad bearing in the transmission and asked if I wanted to keep the parts as they were good. I just let them keep it. Great communication, nice bunch of guys, Jeep moves again.
I've known Jason , Owner of Clutches and Gears for 5 1/2 years know. He did a complete overhaul on an F-150 2008 Trans and everything worked out well.
I also went there a year after that for him to diagnose my other newer F-150 with a shudder problem when shifting and he was honest enough to tell me it didn't need a big repair and he recommended a special additives and a put it in and it took care of my problem.
I appreciate Jason's knowledge about transmission problems.
I have a 2006 Kia Spectra that kept going into limp mode. After about three weeks at a different shop that pretty much jerked me around (looking at you Eagle Transmission on Plano and Forest), I took it to Jason at the recommendation of B N Automotive ( I recommend them too for anything electrical ). He had it for a day, pin pointed the problem, and was very honest and upfront about how much it would be and when I'd get it back. I gave it to him on a Wednesday (if I recall correctly, maybe Thursday), he diagnosed it, had it over the weekend and I got it back the following Monday. Turns out, I needed a new valve body. He gave me the option of a used transmission that had 40,000 miles less than mine but I felt my current transmission was fine for the time being. The car is running great with no issues. Shifting just fine. I've been driving it for over two weeks, as of writing this review, with no limp mode episodes.
I highly recommend Jason and his team. They're honest, forthright, and do not look for other things to put the "fear of god" in you to get you to pay more for something that isn't broken. It's about time I found an honest mechanic and Clutch and Gears Transmission is it.
Great service! I had a really tough time finding a reliable and honest mechanic until I came across this place. Jason is very responsive. They didn't make me buy unnecessary parts and the cost for labor was more than fair. I HIGHLY recommend this shop
Great Guys, Jason is honest and respectful. I had a great experience with them. They installed a clutch kit on my Mustang Roush Stage 3. They charged me less than other mechanics. Totally recommend these guys.
Best transmission shop I've used to date. Jason the owner is very honest. He rebuild the tranny in my van and even upgraded it.
